About PhotoHis name is Aldous Huxley, but he only gets called that when he's in trouble. Most of the time, he’s just Huxley or "Hux." Here he is sitting on the mantle of our fireplace, where he is NOT supposed to be (yeah, we KNOW . . .). We got him from the SBACC in January of '22. He was not the cat we went there to see. Our previous cat was a small Maine Coon, so we were looking for a floofy, cuddly creature. He was neither floofy nor cuddly. He was actually kind of wiry and, at best (let’s be charitable here), not totally indifferent to us. Here we are 2 years and 8 months in. As you can see, he floofed out nicely – you could make sweaters out of this stuff. He can be frustratingly strong-willed (got the scars to prove it), he's a total love-bug, and he’ll comfort you when you’re down. He can be vocal and demanding, but he is an endless source of amusement (he’s never met a spring he didn’t want to bat across the room). He's a brute, he's a clown, he’s a middle-of-the-floor obstacle, he is a happy-tail-flag flying free spirit.
