Pet's Story
According to JAR, Figaro was found all by herself in a forest in Kake earlier this summer, just a tiny (and I mean tiny--under 2 pounds) kitten all alone, crying out for help. She made her way to Juneau, and hung out at JAR with another litter of similar-aged kittens until my friend took her home as a foster. Unfortunately that didn't work out as an adoptive home, and so, after watching her for one weekend, I decided to keep her. As a parting gift, her foster owner named her Figaro (aka Fig or Figgy). Late one night she had a big, scary seizure, and after consulting with a vet that night and the next morning, I officially adopted Figaro from JAR. Since then she's been on a cross-country flight and her case has been examined by a half dozen vets and specialists from all over the country, but the exact cause of her seizures has yet to be determined. Despite the poking and prodding, Figaro is alternately a very chilled out, cuddly, loving kitten who demands to be picked up and held every time I come home, and a rambunctious, mischievous, fluffy source of entertainment, laughter, and joy. She's a spectacular kitten and a wonderful pet and I was lucky to find her.
