Pet's Story or Brief Bio Aphrodite (Golden Retriever) & Duke (Flat-Coated Retriever), bonded pair, joined our family as foster kiddos three years ago at the age of 12. Aphie was not doing well at the kennel, she was getting very ill and rushed to ER. My heart sunk when I saw her during my volunteer shift. In just days, both pups came to live with us, and they must have really loved life because she got well within just few weeks and both lived very happy and active lives. We took them on vacations, daily car rides and walks, for ice cream, swimming, but mostly we played ball (their favorite). Our Sweets were very young physically and at heart. They brought us a tremendous amount of joy and laughter. Sadly, Duke passed away in Feb '24. It broke Aphie’s heart. She missed her brother immensely and said goodbye to us in Aug '24, shortly after her 15th birthday. Thank you for all the joy, love, laughter and beautiful memories. We miss you every minute of every day, but you will live forever in our hearts.
