Pet's Name
Ruby
How old is your pet?
Ruby is 3 years old, I fostered her at 5 weeks and I just couldn't let her go. Her birthday is Nov.2
What is his/her favorite pastime?
Ruby loves to play with her sister, Rainey and her other friends. She's not big on eating her dinner, but she loves treats and bones - especially Greenies and Pig Ears. She likes to sleep in the bed with Rainey and I, but also loves her kennel and takes naps in there all by herself, the kennel and the walk in closet are her "safe places". She likes to protect the house, and is certain that the mail man is coming to kill us. She was diagnosed with severe anxiety and OCD so we work on that every day. She takes doggie prozac and xanax - which seems to help. But she's doing so much better with the neighbors and not freaking out. She loves to play ball, but won't bring it back. She just wants you to keep throwing more! She loves people and loves to snuggle. She knows her basic commands but would like to learn even more! I have to say her all time favorite things are her kitties. She LOVES her kitties. She and Elsa play all night long, and in the daytime they snuggle in the sun.
Why would he/she like to be the next Paws Walk Grand Marshal?
Ruby's mother, Pearl, was taken in by 4 Luv of dog rescue - 2 days later she gave birth to Ruby and her brothers and sisters. Ruby wants to be the next Grand Marshal to help other dogs and cats that are on the street. She realizes that she could have been born on the street and probably wouldn't have survived since it was in November. She wants to walk for her sister Rainey, who was saved from a very bad situation in Alabama and made her way up here thanks to Sarah's Treasure rescue. Her sister has many scars that we'll never know the cause of, and Ruby doesn't want that to happen to anyone else! She wants to walk for all the dogs she was a foster sister to - Petey, Buddy, Lightning, Nala and Dharma. She wants all dogs to be able to find a warm bed in a caring home. She wants to raise awareness of the cruelty happening right under people's noses. And she wants to represent Homeward Animal Shelter where we adopted her favorite kitty, Elsa after our Meowfy passed. She loves her so much.
