Description of what this piece of art means to the artistThis piece represents both my heart transplant and my love for Dragons. This dragon is holding a heart made of precious metals in his talons; even though it is not entirely gold or entirely silver (it is a mix of the two), it is just as valuable and is something to be treasured nonetheless. If anything, it is special. I don’t want those who get heart transplants to feel ashamed or angry for having the operation done. Rather, I think they should be proud and confident. The heart is not something that should be taken for granted; it is something valuable and worth treasuring, even if it’s a heart that was donated by someone else. All hearts are special, no matter who they belong to.
