BioTonja a graduate of FSU with a degree in Criminal Justice. For the first 11 years of her career, she worked as a police officer for Tallahassee Police Department, she then joined the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and was there for 17 years. She is now in her 29th year in Law Enforcement as Deputy Chief for Tallahassee Police Department. While there, Tonja oversees and leads the TPD Citizen Advisory Council. She also leads a Youth Citizen Advisory Council; this allows young people to become engaged though events that would allow them to become involved. The Council work together on current issues concerning the youth and engage in positive, solution -oriented dialogue.
