Pet's StoryShe's a true rescue! She had 5 homes before going back to the Mat-Su animal shelter. They then put her in the SPOT program at the Eagle River Women's prison. An amazing program for inmates and dogs. I flew up to Anchorage after finding her online. JAR was different then and didn't have any dogs to adopt. I went into the prison, saw her graduation and met her inmate trainer. They had a special bond as Jax had been nearly killed in the facility by another dog and the inmate gave her Doggie CPR. I flew home to Juneau with her that day, 12 years ago. She is now 14 (ish) and my true companion. She goes everywhere with me.
