Porter is a very special pup, his story starts here. Porter, formerly known as Dover, was at Adopt Me! Bluegrass Pet Rescue in Kentucky before his life behind bars began. Paws Behind Bars is a training program that partners with Luther Luckett Correctional Complex’s inmates. The pups are partnered up with an inmate who they are with 24/7 for 4-10 weeks to learn their manners. After his training, Porter was scooped up by BayPath (whose website my boyfriend and I refreshed on the daily). We saw (Dover) Porter posted on their site on Tuesday, my roommate and I went to meet him on Wednesday and we had a filled out application by Thursday. How can you resist this big loveable lug? Porter is now 18mo and 80lbs of wiggly, snuggly love. He loves his guinea pig brother Kip, especially trying to eat his food and hay… He loves to cuddle and take up 90% of the bed during the night, but in the sweetest way. His favorite things include giving kisses, chasing squirrels, riding in the car, holding hands, playing with his toys (the current favorite is a zombie squirrel from BarkBox) and working for treats. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to adopt Porter. He makes each day fun and we miss him the second that we leave him for work. His handsome happy face brightens everyone’s day.
