Cake Title Lace and Love

Cake StoryThis is my first ever wedding cake that I made for my sister’s wedding! It isn’t the fanciest cake I have ever made but I think it is my most impressive. The bottom tier was red velvet, the top carrot cake, and was covered in delicious cream cheese buttercream. The edible lace is homemade and it was my first (and only) time I have done it! I also had to transport this cake in the car 6 hours and it miraculously made the trip. At the end of the day, I was very proud of this cake and it made my sister happy so it was worth all the stress. My sister and brother in law actually just pulled the top tier out of the freezer for their 1st anniversary and said it still tasted good!

Your Icing Smiles StoryI applied to Icing Smiles last year and I have only made 1 cake so far but it was an amazing experience. I made a two tiered vanilla cake decorated in a marbled purple and green buttercream icing, with gold splatters, and dancer cutouts spiraling around it. It was for a super sibling’s 16th birthday and was so fun to make. I really hope I can do another soon. I am currently in a Physician Assistant masters program and could use a fun break to create something for a deserving kid.
