It was unusual to have rain that late in the year; the weather and the early hour conspired to ensure that there were not many others at the lake at this time, which endowed the scene with stillness and quiet. But the vivid green of the leaves and grass against the sombre grey of the clouds evoked for me the lyrics of one of my favorite songs of all... "I sit here in the thunder / The green upon the grey", from the 1985 song 'Under The Ivy' by Kate Bush. Ever since capturing this moment, I can't help thinking that she wrote that verse expressly for it. Thank you again, Spring Lake, and Sonoma County Regional Parks!
