We meet at their place near Howarth Park at 8:45am and walk along Spring Lake, rain or shine. It's been that way ever since I moved back to Sonoma County six years ago. The time together with them nourishes our friendship, our love of walking and gives us time to enjoy Spring Lake – its green cranes, night herons, turtles and other wildlife. I always have my camera ready and this was a special day, the day after it snowed this past February. It's not often we're lucky enough to have snow grace our distant peaks, and with such a spectacular view from Spring Lake. I'm grateful for this contest, if only to share the natural beauty with others
