Of course, I always have my camera with me, ready to capture the marvelous wildlife inhabiting this park. I took the photo of this magical encounter with a Green Heron back in January 2022 with my 560mm tele lens from a save distance. It was well hidden in the dark shade of the dense reed surrounding Spring Lake. If it had not moved its colorful head ever so slightly, I might have easily missed it. Luckily, it did move and I got to share this amazing photo of this colorful Heron with you, partly hidden in the shade, partly illuminated by the warm sun. With this photo and hopefully your votes I can help maintain the great parks in Sonoma County and therefore the home of this Green Heron and many other plants and animals to be enjoyed on many more walks. :-)
