Full Name of Your Superstar Nominee Morgan Shepard


What makes your nominee a superstar? Examples can include what makes them special, how they embrace what makes them unique, and what they do to inspire and empower the communityMorgan's personality makes her a superstar. You can't be around her without smiling or laughing! She pumps up people like it is second nature. If there is music, she will be dancing! At the same time, she is extremely professional. As a wedding planner, she brings attention to detail, preparedness and organization to everything she does. Lastly, she is a great leader. She can bring everyone together and get them excited about any task, no matter the size.

How has your nominee engaged with Girls on the Run OR how have they inspired girls to be joyful, healthy and confident? Morgan started as a 5K volunteer at the registration table. At her very first GOTR 5K, she was talking to the board about what improvements we could make and how she could bring breakfast items for everyone to our next event. After the event, everyone said that we needed to hear more of Morgan's thoughts, so she was invited to join the 5K Committee to help with the planning of the events throughout the year. Morgan then was elevated to Race Day leader. All volunteers checked in with her that morning to get their assignments and she checked in with each station throughout the morning. This summer, she was elevated again to 5K Committee Chair, where she is now leading the entire committee! In addition, she has helped with other volunteer needs. She helped create and lead our first volunteer recruitment info session in January. She also has represented GOTR at community awareness events. She uses all of her skills in leadership, organization, encouragement, etc. to support the efforts of Girls on the Run!
