Pet's Story
Princess’ life began in a puppy mill in Missouri. At less than six months old, her front leg was broken at the elbow joint, so instead of euthanizing her, she was given to a local rescue. I was looking for another chihuahua to keep my one company, and found this sweet girl on Craigslist, which is how our story began. Determined, she grew up doing all the things “normal” dogs do, racing through the yard, jumping on furniture, begging for food, etc. She attended doggie daycare, moved from Kansas to Buffalo, was diagnosed with pancreatic disease, lost her “brother,” Tucker, and gained another brother, Stuart. I have never met a dog with more “staying power.” But, even with all the grit and stamina this girl possesses, she has grown tired. Her leg has become heavy and she has developed arthritis. She also sometimes has pancreatic flares. I work from home (a BLESSING), so she gets to eat and sleep whenever she feels like it. She has been a loyal and loving friend, and I owe her the same.
