Entry Title Ari the Rescue Pom

Pet's StoryI've always had big dogs. So have my friends. One of those friends and I were talking about what kind of small dog we'd want, one day, in the distant future. I said "a blonde Pomeranian"! Little did I know, the distant future was actually only a few days away. She and I volunteer at the Buffalo Animal Shelter. She was feeding the dogs their Thanksgiving meals when she came across a blonde Pomeranian. She sent me his photo, and I was on my way. He was a stray, so needed to be held to give his owners time to find him. I visited with him when I could, each time expecting to walk in and see his kennel empty, as I assumed someone was coming for him. Surprisingly, they didn't, and he came home with me. That was 8 years ago. He's since become an integral part of our family, helping foster other animals, earning his Canine Good Citizen certificate, and making sure things don't get boring around here with his lively personality. I'm so thankful for that random conversation with a friend.
