Welcome to the Alaska Pets Photo Contest

Thank you for supporting the animals in the Gastineau Humane Society's shelter by entering photos of your Alaskan pet and voting for the photos you like best.  Help us raise funds for our shelter and help your favorite pet become one of the Alaska Pets 2018 calendar winners! Please ask your friends and family to vote too.

CONTEST RULES:

Entering Your Photos

1. To enter your photos,  click 'Enter Contest', create an account, or login with your existing account. (Your contact information is for the Gastineau Humane Society's use only).  
2. Submit your favorite landscape/horizontal Alaska pet photos. NOTE: No vertical/portrait photos and no people in the photos. 
3. There is a $5 entry fee, per photo.
4. Photos from all seasons of the year are encouraged. 
   

All photos and votes must be submitted by 7:00 pm AKDT on Friday, September 29, 2017. 

Eligible Photos

1. Photos submitted for the contest must be landscape (horizontal) , high quality (300 dpi minimum), or 2400 X 3000 pixels, JPEG (JPG) images, so that they will produce nice looking 8x10 images for the calendar. The Gastineau Humane Society and 360 Photo reserve the right to edit or crop winning entries to ensure a proper fit for the printed calendar.
2. Photos may NOT contain people. If a winning photo features a person, the next highest winning entry will be chosen to replace it in the calendar.
3. By submitting your photo you certify that you own the copyright to the picture and that you agree to grant the Gastineau Humane Society nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable right and license to copy, reproduce, publish in any media, distribute and display all submitted photos, images and text. All submitted photos are subject to review by the Gastineau Humane Society for inappropriate/offensive content. Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification. These entries will not be permitted and there will be no refunds.
4. Calendar Contest winners may be asked to re-submit their photos once the contest has ended. If an original landscape photo is not available in a high enough resolution and large enough for quality calendar printing, the Gastineau Humane Society will have to default to the next highest winning entry.

Voting for photos

1. To vote, click 'Donate to Vote', and choose the number of votes you want to make. (Minimum of 5 votes). Continue through the payment screens, and your votes will immediately apply to that entry.
   
2. There is no maximum vote limit; voting multiple times throughout the contest is permissible. Ask your friends and family to vote! 
3. Voting will end Friday, September 29, 2017 at 7:00 pm AKDT.
4. ALL proceeds support the Gastineau Humane Society and the animals we serve.
   

How to be a winner

• Votes will determine 10 of the monthly-features in the Gastineau Humane Society 2018 Alaska Pets Calendar.  The two remaining calendar winners will be chosen by administrators of the Juneau Photo Group - 1) for the best overall photo and 2) for the most creative photo. The cover will be chosen by the Gastineau Humane Society Board of Directors. The Juneau Photo Group is made up of local photographers who are dedicated to sharing photography found in and around Southeast Alaska.
• All winners will receive a complimentary Gastineau Humane Society 2018 Alaska Pets Calendar.
