2022 Pet Photo Calendar Contest Rules
Your pet can help raise money for less fortunate dogs and cats by having his or her picture compete in the Four Footed Friends Inc. 33rd Annual Pet Photo Calendar Contest!
This year, our contest is ALL VIRTUAL !!!
As a major fundraiser, FFF (a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal shelter in Indiana, Pennsylvania) sells pet calendars. The 12 photos (one for each month of the year) are selected from pet photographs submitted by individuals. Between now and the entry deadline, HIGH QUALITY DIGITAL PHOTOS of all types of pets will be accepted by FFF. Our Board of Directors will select up to 50 photos based on quality and appropriateness of subject matter. These semi-finalist photos will be displayed ONLINE for public voting by online donation.
The 12 photos generating the most funds will each be given a full-page spot on the 2022 Calendar, along with the owner’s name(s) and the animal’s name and description. All runners-up will appear on the inside back page of the calendar. Calendars will be available for sale to the public in autumn 2021. Owners of the 12 winning pet photos will receive a complimentary copy.
CONTEST RULES & GUIDELINES
- Entries must be uploaded at this website (360 Photo Contest). Please follow the onscreen instructions and make sure to provide all requested information, including the owner’s name, address, and phone number, and the pet’s name, breed, and age.
- Digital images (.png or .jpg) from 1MB to 3MB+ in size are ideal for the calendar. Effective printing requires high-quality images and large file sizes. Photos should be at least 300 pixels per inch in resolution.
- PHOTO TIPS:Sharp, high-resolution photos are required.Export the image from your phone or digital camera at the highest memory size possible. Please do not submit images that are blurred. Photos should also be well-lit and uncluttered. Plain (solid-color as opposed to patterned), light backgrounds work best. Outdoors/natural light is a good choice. The “focus” of the photo should be your pet!
- Owners should retain a copy of the digital image. No printed photo from the owner is needed by FFF.
- Only one photo entry permitted per household.
- There should be no people in the photo submitted.
- Entries reaching the semi-final round will be notified AFTER the entry deadline, either by email or phone. Decision of the Four Footed Friends Board of Directors is final.
- Voting by donation will be done ONLINE ONLY. Website voting links will be provided and shared via social media. FFF will NOT operate any public in-person voting, but participants may fundraise however they wish. Donations (cash or check) may be dropped off at FFF at 220 Beck Road, Indiana PA 15701-4727; please check our shelter hours and follow any requested safety guidelines. Make sure to note the NAME OF THE PET to whom the donation should be assigned, so that your votes COUNT!
- The top-earning photos generally bring in high donation amounts, so “fundraising” for your pet’s photo is encouraged. You can do a bake sale, car wash, yard sale, or any other fun activity you like! FFF can provide helpful fundraising tips if your pet reaches the semi-final round.
- FFF reserves the right to select one or more photos (not from among the 12 main winners) as Judges' Choice winners based on photographic merit, and feature them on the front and/or back cover(s) of the calendar.
- Pets pictured on any previous FFF pet calendar ARE eligible to compete, but must be shown in a "new" photo.
