Rules

"The Power to Make a Difference" Art Contest is sponsored by Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, Burke-Fairfax Chapter (“Sponsor”). This Contest is governed by these Official Rules (“Official Rules”). By submitting an art work to “The Power to Make a Difference” contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by the Official Rules for participation as well as the entry requirements.  Any violation of these rules may, at the Sponsor’s discretion, result in disqualification.  All decisions of the Sponsor regarding this program are final and binding in all respects.  The Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to Fairfax County, Virginia residents who are ages 5–18 years old at the time of entry. Members of any chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated are not eligible. Sponsor has the right to verify eligibility of each entrant. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter.

2. SUBMISSION PERIOD: The Contest submission period is Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. ET through Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. ET.  All entries (submissions) must be received by the Sponsor during the submission period. Sponsor reserves the right to extend or shorten the Contest at their sole discretion.

HOW TO ENTER: Entrants must fill out all required fields on the entry form that accompanies their art work to participate in the Contest.  Each participant may submit only one (1) entrythrough either of the two options below. REVISED November 19, 2020: Multiple entries submitted at any time during the submission period will be accepted.

  1. Submit an entry through the Contest web page at https://my.360photocontest.com/Power.
  2. Send the entry form and the art work submission to the attention of Mrs. Arkesha Moses, Burke-Fairfax Jack and Jill, Inc., 6412 Brandon Ave #245, Springfield, VA 22150.  The application is available at https://my.360photocontest.com/Power. All eligible entries received by mail will be uploaded to the Contest database on behalf of the entrant. Contest participants who mail in their entry may make arrangements with the Sponsor to have their art work returned. This request must be made in writing to [email protected] by January 9, 2021. Failure to claim any art work by January 31, 2021, at the entrant’s expense, allows the Sponsor to determine what to do with these works.

4. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

5. WINNERS AND NOTIFICATION: December 1, 2020, entries will be posted on the Art Contest website, https://my.360photocontest.com/Power, where they will be eligible for voting. Anyone with access to the Contest website may vote for any entry at the rate of $1 USD per vote. There is no limit on the number of times a person can vote on a single entry or multiple entries. Voting ends on December 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The entry with the most votes in each of four age categories will win. There will be a total of four winners.

6 DISQUALIFICATION: Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with rules stated herein or entry requirements. For example, applicants may be disqualified from entering or winning under the following conditions: not meeting age requirements, applicant’s membership in Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, receipt outside the submission period, multiple entries per applicant, submission without an entry form, submission with an incomplete entry form, and submission with false information.

7. PUBLICITY: By participating, each entrant grants Sponsor permission to use his/her first name and submitted art work for publicity purposes without payment.

8. PRIZE CATEGORIES: Any and all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prize is solely the responsibility of the winner. One prize per category will be awarded as follows:

OWNERSHIP AND LICENSE: Each entrant retains ownership of his/her/their own submission, but entry into this Contest constitutes entrant’s irrevocable permission and consent that the Sponsor may display, copy, reproduce, enhance, print, sublicense, publish, distribute and create derivative works for Sponsor purposes. Sponsor is not responsible for lost or damaged entries. Submission of entry into “The Power to Make a Difference” Art Contest constitutes acceptance of all rules and conditions.

INDEMNIFICATION AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to indemnify, release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, the technology platform, administrators, advertising and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from any liability, damages, losses or injury resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from that entrant’s participation in the Contest and the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize that may be won.  Sponsor and its parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies do not make any warranties, express or implied, as to the condition, fitness or merchantability of the prize.  Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliate, advertising and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from access to or the download of information or materials connected with the Contest.

Winners will be announced on or before January 31, 2021, but no earlier than January 1, 2021. Announcement and prize instructions will be sent to the e-mail address supplied on the potential prize winner’s entry form.  Winners may also be notified via phone.  Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail account for prize notification or other communications related to this Contest. If a potential prize winner cannot be reached by the Sponsor within fifteen (15) days using the contact information provided at the time of entry, or if the prize is returned as undeliverable, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize.  Prizes may be mailed with delivery confirmation by the chosen carrier (e.g. US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx). If a potential winner fails to comply with these Official Rules, s/he will be disqualified.
