Pet's Name Gumbo's 1st hour in the house! ALL THESE TOYS and a BED? FOR ME??

Pet's StoryGumbo was one of the 80+ Lunenburg pups gathered up from an elderly couple's hoarding conditions. 2 adults+ 100 dogs=no socialization. Hubby and I went to Field of Dreams to be a part of the volunteers to help get them used to touch. They were all combinations of beagle, chihuahua, Jack Russell, and doxie, so just adorable! While there, I fell in love with several of these sweet babies! Gumbo, Chowder, Dakota, Buster, and a few others were tugging at my heart! While there, I took probably 100 pictures of these sweet babies. Once home, I began going thru the shots, and came to realize that GUMBO was in all but 7 of the pics!!! He had stayed by my side, by my knee, moved with me as I moved through the pen, and stayed right there "attached at the hip", so to speak!! My heart was already leaning towards him, but this definitely "cinched" it!!! He was after my heart, and my heart was full for him! He came home to his "harem", as we had 3 female rescues already. He immediately made his place known, my LAP, and is it WHENEVER it exists! lol He saves his "Aaauurrooohh! for just me, and I get that loving howl every time I come into the house after being gone for more than a few hours.( He never uses it otherwise! ) He is the sweetest little guy in the world, with that Jack face, beagle coloring, and doxie body, too cute for words! He stole our hearts, and we are forever grateful to SSPCA for rescuing these pups, and getting them ALL to loving homes,to know the touch + feel of love!

As Top Dog or Cat-in-Chief, my pet wouldtake it in stride, as he is pretty laid back, and doesn't like to "show off", since he is, after all, the King in this house, with his" harem " of "Katie", "Gracie" and "Tawny" about him. He uses my lap as his "throne", but doesn't like to lord it over the girls. He was quite the "stud muffin", I was told, before we got him, so he is pretty secure in his image. I think he would make a great Dog -In- Chief, and wouldn't let it go to his head! lol
