Pet's Story
Sandy rescued Randal from a euthanizing shelter last March. We adopted him in June. He appeared to be very laid back and docile until we got him home. He took one look at the back yard and started running and running as if to say "Wow, have I hit the mother-load!" He ran up the deck steps through the sliding glass doors, jumped over two dog beds and skidded into the kitchen. That's Randal, and he has been full throttle ever since. He is so happy, grins all the time and makes you laugh just to see him. People are a little snobby about hound dogs, in general, they are not considered a “sexy” breed. Since Randal is one of a kind, I decided to make up a unique breed of hound dogs. I tell people he is a genuine Yorkshire Foxhound with jersey markings, very rare, can't even find them on Google. People are impressed, none the wiser. Randal’s hobbies are roughhousing with his new “sister” Sheri (formerly Jade), protecting us from vicious herds of deer, napping and eating. He is a delight, and we’re thrilled he is part of our family.
As Top Dog or Cat-in-Chief, my pet would
Be the ambassador of love, hope, and happiness to all the rescued dogs. He will tell them "If I can find a forever home, so can you. Don't ever give up; there is someone very special out there to love you, if it can happen to me, it can happen to you."
