Pet's Name Pinky Pie

Pet's StoryPinky Pie is the sweetest, most loving senior girl. Perhaps a bit grumpy when awoken early in the morning, but who isn't! She wasn't always this trusting, in the beginning she was scared. I remember when we first started walking her around the neighborhood I was frustrated that she would sit in front of dumpsters, refuse to move and cry. Then I realized, she thought she would still have to scrounge for food and scraps by digging in those dumpsters. She literally broke my heart with the ghosts and shadows of her past life then knit it back together through her complete gift of trust and friendship. There is nothing like coming home to that "Barooooo!!!" after a long day. She has taught me to live in the moment, take nothing for granted. That terrible circumstances can change in an instant, that hope and love are always worth it no matter how you've been hurt in the past and that a good sleep on a soft pillow can heal so many disappointments. She's been through a lot, life has certainly left her with scars but I am so grateful we looked past her appearance and situation into her little heart, she has certainly become part of mine. Now I see her mis-shapen belly from surgeries and her scarred face and lips as nothing short of beautiful.
