Pet's Story
El came to me in Oct of 2013, not yet full grown and he needed to be fixed. A friend of mine found him coming out of the woods in VA. She wanted to keep him but she elected to give him away and asked if I would take him. I said, “if you can bring him to me (in Raleigh where I reside), I will take him in.” Without ever seeing a picture or knowing his name, I took him in. It’s funny because she was going to name him Elmo and I knew that the next kitty I adopted would be named El. Now he has multiple names ie. El, Elmo, Elly Mo, etc. He has the most loving ways and he can be trifling at the same time. He has slept on my bed since the first day I got him and he is notorious for biting me on the back of the head, legs, arms, anywhere he can bite when he needs you to know he wants to be petted. He has been known to nibble at my neighbors when they visit too. He never meets a stranger and he gets along with all the other kitties in the house. He has a tendency to get on their nerves at times and it is quite obvious when he has worn out his welcome in their eyes. I won’t discuss how many cats I have, just know that all of them have a story. I will also add that every morning while I’m getting ready for work, he greets me with love and wants to be picked up and cuddled. His actions are unlike my other pets as none of my other pets do this. They will sit and watch me get ready for work but El puts more effort to the attention he thinks he deserves.
As Top Dog or Cat-in-Chief, my pet would
As for Cat in Chief, to me, El represents that cats are loving, playful, caring and all the above. He is outgoing and one of the best things that has ever happened to me as far as taking on a pet. He greets my son with nothing but love when he comes home from college. El is never a stranger and will be able to represent pets all over the world. If he wins he wants to start his new endeavor by donating his gift card to one or multiple new pet owners that adopt from the SPCA. If possible he would like to break the gift card down into 2 or 4 cards that way multiple people will be able to start their journey off as new pet owners with a gift. We appreciate everyone that takes a pet into their forever home. I will make sure he thanks you in person by bringing him to your establishment to meet all the employees there that work hard daily saving animals from being harmed and homeless.
