Pet's StoryBucket was rescued by JAR in 2018, just in time for Steve and I to have settled in to Juneau and begin the search for the perfect addition to our family. Steve saw him on the website during his daily search and immediately called me to let me know. I promptly got hold of JAR and went to meet Bucket that afternoon. It was love at first sight, for me anyways. Bucket was slightly more interested in the rodent room next door but was sweet enough to give me some attention and followed a few commands very well. I submitted the application and we got the call that evening that we had been approved and could come pick him up the following morning. The first couple days took a lot of convincing him that he was in a safe and loving environment, once he realized he was, it was time to begin his much needed socializing and off-leash training. Although he still has some leash manners to work on, he has come such a long way. He has regular play dates with his best friend/girlfriend Rainy (a beautiful husky/shepherd mix), and has dozens of trail friends he’s met along the way. He has also charmed his way into most of our neighbors’ hearts (and pockets!) who readily have treats for him whenever he happens to be out and about with us. He is the happiest, sweetest, cuddliest and most adorable member of the family. We love him to pieces and can’t thank JAR enough for allowing us to be his forever family and home.
