Rules

Eligible Photos

1. Photos must be submitted by Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 11:00 pm AKDT.
2. Photos submitted for the contest MUST BE landscape (horizontal) , high quality (300 dpi minimum), or 2400 X 3000 pixels, JPEG (JPG) images, so that they will produce nice looking 8x10 images for the calendar. Juneau Animal Rescue and 360 Photo reserve the right to edit or crop winning entries to ensure a proper fit for the printed calendar.
3. Photos may NOT contain people. If a winning photo features a person, the next highest winning entry will be chosen to replace it in the calendar. 
4. Photos from all seasons of the year are encouraged.
5. By submitting your photo you certify that you own the copyright to the picture and that you agree to grant Juneau Animal Rescue nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable right and license to copy, reproduce, publish in any media, distribute and display all submitted photos, images and text. All submitted photos are subject to review by Juneau Animal Rescue for inappropriate/offensive content. Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification. These entries will not be permitted and there will be no refunds.
6. Calendar Contest winners may be asked to re-submit their photos once the contest has ended. If an original landscape photo is not available in a high enough resolution and large enough for quality calendar printing, Juneau Animal Rescue will have to default to the next highest winning entry.

Voting

1. There is no maximum vote limit; voting multiple times throughout the contest is permissible. Ask your friends and family to vote! 
2. Voting will end Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 11:00 pm AKDT.
3. ALL proceeds support Juneau Animal Rescue and the animals we serve.

Winners

• Your votes will determine 10 of the monthly-features in the Juneau Animal Rescue 2021 Alaska Pets Calendar. The two remaining calendar winners will be chosen by administrators of the Juneau Photo Group - 1) for the best overall photo and 2) for the best capture of personality photo. The cover will be chosen by the Juneau Animal Rescue Board of Directors. The Juneau Photo Group is made up of local photographers who are dedicated to sharing photography found in and around Southeast Alaska.

• All winners will receive a complimentary Juneau Animal Rescue 2021 Alaska Pets Calendar.

WARRANTIES

When you enter the Contest, you warrant that the photograph is original, that you are the sole owner and copyright holder of that photograph, and that you have not granted exclusive rights of that photograph to any other person or entity. You also warrant that the photograph does not invade the right of privacy of any individual; does not infringe any trademark, trade name, trade secret, intellectual property right, or other common law or statutory right; nor does it contain any material that otherwise violates any criminal prohibition or the personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.

GRANT OF RIGHTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTEST.

With regard to any image or content submitted, you agree to grant Juneau Animal Rescue its legal representatives, successors, and assigns, the nonexclusive right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute the photograph, or any portion thereof, throughout the world, in any printed form and by any kind of mechanical or electronic or any other method or device of reproduction, publication, and distribution known or later developed, during the full term of the copyright, and without notification or payment, in connection with Juneau Animal Rescue Photo Contest. Juneau Animal Rescue agrees that it will never sell the photograph or rights in the photograph to any individual or entity.

GRANT OF RIGHTS FOR ADDITIONAL PURPOSES

By entering the contest, you also agree to grant to Juneau Animal Rescue, its legal representatives, successors, and assigns, the nonexclusive right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute the photograph, or any portion thereof, throughout the world, in any printed form and by any kind of mechanical or electronic or any other method or device of reproduction, publication, and distribution known or later developed, during the full term of the copyright, and without notification or payment. Juneau Animal Rescue also agrees that it will never sell the photograph or rights in the photograph to any individual or entity.

LIABILITY

Juneau Animal Rescue is not responsible for printing, typographical, human or other errors of any kind in any contest-related materials or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, or infection by computer viruses, bugs, or tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, actions of entrants, technical failures, or any other causes corrupt or infect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest. Juneau Animal Rescue reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entry or entrant and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest and at its sole discretion award a prize from among all eligible non-suspect entries validly received prior to the action requiring such modification. By entering, all contestants agree that the Contest is governed by laws of the State of Alaska for the resolution of all claims and disputes (excluding any claims against or disputes involving parties other than Juneau Animal Rescue relating to any prize awarded in the Contest) and litigation regarding any such claims or disputes must be brought in the appropriate state court in Juneau, Alaska.
