Rules

  1. There is a $10 entry fee per photo submitted. Digital photos will be accepted online from 12:00:01 AM (EST) Monday, August 1, 2016 until 11:59:59 PM (EST) Friday, September 30, 2016.
  2. Photos can also be mailed (download the entry form here). Mail completed form, entry fee and photo(s) to: Humane Society of Harford County, 2017 Calendar Contest, 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, MD 21047. Entries sent by mail must be postmarked by September 20, 2016 and will appear online within 48 hours of receipt. Make check payable to HSHC.
  3. Photos are NOT limited to dogs and cats - birds, hamsters, ferrets, horses, etc. can be entered.
  4. Photos must be uploaded in full color and contain only animals (no people) for purposes of design. The best photos are in landscape format (wider than they are tall), 400-600 DPI, and in a JPEG, JPG, PNG, or GIF format. (JPEG/JPG is the preferred form.) HSHC reserves the right to edit or crop winning entries to ensure a proper fit for the printed calendar.
  5. Votes are $1 each, with a minimum of 5 votes per transaction. Votes will be accepted from 12:00:01 AM (EST) Monday, August 1, 2016 until 11:59:59 PM (EST) Friday, September 30, 2016.
  6. You do not have to use all of your votes at the time of donation. When you donate you will be given the option of applying all of your votes to one image or storing your votes in your account. If you choose to store your votes, you can log in to your account at any time with your User ID and password to use them -- divided across any number of pets' entries.
  7. Votes may also be submitted by check. Include a note with the check stating the pet's name and the owner's name, and that you wish to place your donation towards votes for them in the calendar contest. Please also include your phone number in case we have questions. Mail the check and note to: The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., 2017 Calendar Contest, 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, MD 21047.Checks for votes sent by mail must be postmarked by September 20, 2016 and will appear online within 48 hours of receipt. Make check payable to HSHC.
  8. HSHC’s 2017 "Make Your Pet a Pin-Up" Calendar Contest donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
  9. Winners will be notified by e-mail no later than Monday, October 3, 2016. Winners will be posted on the HSHC Facebook page and Web page on or about October 5, 2016.
  10. In the event of a tie, winners will be determined alphabetically by the pet’s first name.
  11. Spread the word everywhere if you want your pet to win and help us raise donations for homeless animals in Harford County! Use the contest site to share on your social media, and ask family and friends to go online and vote for your pet.
  12. HSHC is not responsible for any technical problems or for late, incomplete, stolen, or misdirected entries.
  13. All submitted photos and information become the property of the Humane Society of Harford County to be used at its discretion for any and all marketing purposes without any additional compensation.
  14. Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification.
