CCR Mission:

Canopy Cat Rescue (CCR) is always there to make our way up the tallest trees for animals in need no matter the date or environment, specifically our feline friends. Our motto is “No cats left behind in trees!” no matter a family’s ability to pay for our services.

Canopy Cat Rescue (CCR) was founded in 2009 when two kind-hearted and cat loving arborists, Tom and Shaun, who realized that there was an overwhelming need for qualified tree climbers to help wayward cats stuck up in the tall branches of Washington State. Prior to 2009 they had both participated in many cat rescues, but it was at this point that they knew they wanted to make it official and get the word out that CCR was an actual non-profit organization and ready to help more cats.

Since its inception, CCR has rescued over 5,000 kitties. To give a bit of perspective, in the first year between our founders, CCR participated in approximately 75 rescues... fast forward to 2022 where they will complete almost a thousand - and that’s just in one state.
