Your ProfileI have always loved art. Throughout my entire life I have been creative in one way or another and art was my minor when I finally started college in 2003. In the fall of 2011, my Lt. Col. husband was transferred to NC and we had to move here from Georgia…leaving behind my art friends. Fortunately, I started working for the Artists League a month later. I became fascinated by the alcohol ink painting process - loving the vibrancy of the colors and the process of manipulating the flow of the ink into something interesting using various substrates. I am equally intrigued by the use of colorful encaustic waxes on top of the ink to create amazing textures and designs or by using special tools to create a painting using only the wax. I am still the only employee at the Artists League of the Sandhills, I now teach alcohol ink and encaustic wax classes, have a studio in the building, and one at home. There really is no excuse for me to not be creating!
