Rules

Eligibility

• The contest is open to SOFA sponsored residents of mainland Japan only.
• Photos of all pets and animal companions are welcomed: dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, etc. Entries are not limited to rescues.
• If you are under 18 you must obtain permission from a parent/guardian prior to entering the contest.
• You must submit photos of your own pet or obtain permission from the pet's owner if you are submitting their pet's image on their behalf.

Photo Format

Please consider the following guidelines when choosing a photo:

• High resolution (300 dpi minimum)
• Color photos (no black and white or grayscale)
• Contain only pets (no people)
• Landscape format (horizontal)

Photo Submissions

• You must submit your photo online. To enter, click on the 'Enter Contest' button to the right and follow the directions to upload a photograph of your pet.
• Contest submissions are $20 per photo entry. You may submit as many photographs as you like.
• Online entries must be received by November 1, 2018 11:59 p.m. (Tokyo Standard Time).
• Do not use any profanity, foul language or offensive gestures. Any photos deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene will be immediately disqualified.
• All photos become the property of PAWS Animal Shelter.
• Pictures may contain more than one pet.

Voting

• Votes are $1 each.
• You may submit as many votes as you'd like. Voting period is from November 2, 2018 12:01 A.M. to November 16, 2018 11:59 P.M. (Tokyo Standard Time).

Prizes

• All photo entries will receive one copy of the PAWS Animal Shelter 2019 Calendar. Calendars prizes will only be available for pick up at the PAWS Animal Shelter during the announced pick-up date (TBD) and during Adoption Nights.
• All photo submissions with 20 or more votes are guaranteed honorable mention and will be featured as part of a collage in the calendar.
• First place and runner-ups will be contacted by PAWS after the contest closes to claim their prizes.
• Full-page month winners will be notified and asked to provide a higher-resolution version of their photo (if necessary) and a short biography of their pet.
