2023 Santa Fe New Mexican
Pet Calendar Event

For more than a decade, the Santa Fe New Mexican has honored our community's furry, feathered, scaled, and bare-skinned two-and-four legged friends through the annual Pet Calendar. We are proud to continue this local tradition and donate 10 percent of the voting proceeds to Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Felines and Friends. See a copy of this year's calendar here.

How does it work?

Get your cameras out and ready to snap your pet pal's best picture (close-ups of your pet are best) and enter your pet in the Santa Fe New Mexican 2023 Pet Calendar event starting, Sunday, July 10. The entry fee is $30* and the entry deadline is 11:59 pm Sunday, August. 7.

All pets are welcome! Entrants will be revealed in the Santa Fe New Mexican and Round 1 voting begins on Friday, August 12. Round 1 votes are $1 per vote with a $5 minimum. Voting tally updates will be updated weekly in each Friday's paper and repeated in the following Sunday's paper. The Round 1 voting period will end at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The exciting race to the finish continues as the top 25 vote-getters will then enter Round 2, beginning on Friday, Sept. 9. through Wednesday, Sept. 28. Votes in this round are $2 each with a $10 minimum.

The top vote-getter will be featured on the calendar's cover with other winners highlighting a specific month in the calendar. The top 13 winners will be proudly revealed when the 2023 Pet Calendar publishes on Sunday, Oct. 30. Make sure to get your copy inside your Santa Fe New Mexican. Additional copies are available and can be reserved for $5 each.

Ten percent of the voting proceeds will be donated to this year's beneficiaries: Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Felines and Friends.
