2025 Santa Fe New Mexican
Pet Calendar Event

For more than a decade, the Santa Fe New Mexican has honored our community's furry, feathered, scaled, and bare-skinned two-and-four legged friends through the annual Pet Calendar. We are proud to continue this local tradition and donate a percentage of the voting proceeds to Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Española Humane.

How does it work?

Get your cameras out and ready to snap your pet pal's best picture (close-ups of your pet are best) and enter your pet in the Santa Fe New Mexican 2025 Pet Calendar event starting, Sunday, July 14. The entry fee is $30* and the entry deadline is 11:59 pm Sunday, August 18.

All pets are welcome! Entrants will be revealed in the Santa Fe New Mexican and Round 1 voting begins on Friday, August 23. Round 1 votes are $1 per vote with a $5 minimum. Voting tally updates will be updated weekly in each Friday's paper and repeated in the following Sunday's paper. The Round 1 voting period will end at 11:59 pm on Sunday, Sept. 15.

The exciting race to the finish continues as the top 25 vote-getters will then enter Round 2, beginning on Friday, Sept. 20. through Monday, October 7. Votes in this round are $2 each with a $10 minimum. Please note that votes from Round 1 are not carried over - all the contestants begin Round 2 with zero votes.

The top 25 will receive a pet photography session by Jane Phillips Photography and their professional images will be revealed when the 2025 Pet Calendar publishes**. Make sure to get your copy inside your Santa Fe New Mexican on Sunday, November 3rd. Additional copies are available and can be reserved for $5 each. 

The top vote-getter will be featured on the calendar's cover with the other top 12 winners highlighting a specific month in the calendar. 

A percentage of the voting proceeds will be donated to this year's beneficiaries: Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Española Humane.
