Sacramento Shelter Pets Alive (SSPA) is raising funds so we can continue to provide vital services to better the lives of dogs, with a focus on large-breed dogs, during their stay at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter in Sacramento, California. 

We are committed to providing innovative and comprehensive behavioral rehabilitation programs, foster care, rescue support, as well as pre-and post-adoption counseling for prospective adopters in order to sustain a high live release rate. We approach every dog as an individual with the understanding that physical appearance does not determine behavior. 

Our program has been instrumental in delivering an over 90% live release rate for dogs at the County shelter, but we know we can do even better! This is where you come in!

While we may still be sheltered in place, Halloween is not cancelled this year! Now is the time to dress your pet in its finest Halloween costume for the chance to win bragging rights and/or some amazing prizes. Whether cute or spooky, all costumes are welcome! By submitting your $10 donation along with your pet’s photo, you will have entered your pet in the contest. You will automatically receive 10 votes toward your photo submission once the donation is processed.

Votes are $1 each (with a 5 vote minimum) and you can vote as many times as you like on more than one photo! Yes, you can vote for your own photo!

All of the entries we receive are voted on by our site viewers. The photo with the most votes will win their photo as the cover photo of our SSPA Facebook page for 3 months!!!, an enlarged and framed print of the winning photo, a Crown and Paw pet portrait, and an SSPA t-shirt! We will also have prizes for the runner ups. The top three photos that receive the most votes at the contest’s conclusion will be our winners!
