The Humane Society of Sarasota County’s Calendar & Pet Photo Contest is a purrfect way for you to showcase your favorite four-legged friend while raising much-needed funds for the shelter pets in our care. The winner will be featured on the cover of our 2017 calendar, and the top 12 finalists will star as a pet of the month! Winners will also receive a free calendar and special PRIZES!! And…the top 100 photo entries are guaranteed inclusion in the calendar on the collage pages!

This year's theme is pets acting like humans.

Submit a photo of your pet to be entered in the 2017 "The Real HousePets of Sarasota County” Calendar & Pet Photo Contest! Once you enter your best friend's photo, it's easy to e-mail an invitation to friends and family encouraging them to vote for your pet. And of course, you're welcome to vote for your own entry as many times as you wish!

It’s ONLY a $1 donation per vote!

Every entry made and every vote placed will save the lives of homeless pets in need. The Humane Society of Sarasota County relies solely on private donations, bequests, and grants to do its lifesaving work. Each year, we care for more than 2,000 pets in need, and we could not do it without you! So…vote, vote, vote!!

HOW TO ENTER AND SUBMIT PHOTOS

• To enter the contest and submit photos, click on ENTER CONTEST and follow the directions to upload a photograph of your pet along with up to 150 words describing your pet.
• Photos can be submitted online beginning September 1, 2016, and must be received by October 14, 2016, 11:59:59 PM EST.
• The minimum donation required to enter a photo into in the Humane Society of Sarasota County’s Pet Photo Contest is $10 per photo. You may submit as many photographs as you like. Keep in mind that this year's theme is "pets acting like humans".

HOW TO VOTE FOR A PET'S PHOTO

1. Click VIEW ENTRIES to view the page of the pet you would like to vote for and click on the words CREATE ACCOUNT TO VOTE in the lower right hand corner.
2. Enter requested information and click SUBMIT at the bottom of the page. You will then be returned to the pet’s page as seen in Step 1.
3. Click on DONATE FOR VOTES in the lower right hand corner and select the number of votes you wish to donate.
4. You will then be directed to submit payment information for your donation.
5. Votes can be submitted online and must be received by 11:59:59 PM EST on October 14, 2016.
6. Each vote is $1. Voting requires a minimum donation of $5 for five (5) votes.
7. To be counted, all online votes must be applied to selected photo by the conclusion of the voting period.
Ending time for the Pet Photo Contest will be determined by the host website’s server, which will show prominently as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser on the Pet Photo Contest website.
