ENTRY RULES
PHOTO SUBMISSIONS:
- The minimum donation for submitting a photo for entry into the Humane Society of Sarasota County’s 2017 ‘The Real HousePets of Sarasota County’ Calendar & Pet Photo Contest is $10 per photo. You can submit as many photos as you like.
- To submit your photo, click on the ENTER CONTEST tab above and complete the online entry form.
- All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The Humane Society of Sarasota County, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
- To be considered for entry, all photos must be submitted by 11:59:59 PM EST on October 14, 2016.
- Under no circumstances will entrants’ names, email addresses, mailing addresses, or other identifying information be shared, sold, or exchanged except as noted in official rules.
- Contest winners will need to re-submit their photo to HSSC as a high-resolution, print-quality image.
All photos become the property of the Humane Society of Sarasota County.
ELIGIBLE PHOTOGRAPHS:
- All photos must be submitted online.
- Acceptable photo formats are .jpg and .tif.
- Photos may contain one or more pets (dogs and/or cats only).
- Photos must be high resolution (at least 300dpi).
- Photos cannot contain people. However, the contest theme is "pets acting like people".
- Photos may not be edited or altered other than minor color or contrast adjustment.
- Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification.
- HSSC volunteers, staff, and board members are eligible to participate in this contest.
- All submitted photos are subject to review by the Humane Society of Sarasota County, Inc., for inappropriate/offensive content. These entries will not be permitted.
- If a high-resolution image is unavailable, the next top-scoring photo may be selected to take its place in the calendar.
TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE PHOTO:
- Once a photo is submitted and approved, it will appear in the online gallery on the Humane Society of Sarasota County’s contest website page, and will be open to voting by the general public.
- Each vote is $1. Voting requires a minimum donation of $5 for five (5) votes.
- All votes are donations to the Humane Society of Sarasota County and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. All donors will receive receipts for their contributions.
- The photograph with the most votes (donations) at the end of the submission period will win the voting portion of the 2017 Calendar & Pet Photo Contest.
- The voting period will end at 11:59:59 PM EST on October 14, 2016.
- Ending time for the contest will be determined by the host website’s server, which will show prominently on the Calendar & Pet Photo Contest website as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser.
VOTING INSTRUCTIONS: - Click on the VIEW ENTRIES tab to view the pet photos.
- Click on the words CREATE ACCOUNT TO VOTE in the lower right hand corner.
- Enter requested information and click SUBMIT at the bottom of the page. You will then be returned to the pet’s page as seen in Step 1.
- Click on DONATE FOR VOTES in the lower right hand corner and select the number of votes you wish to donate from the drop-down menu.
- You will be sent to a page titled, DONATION TO ADD VOTES TO VOTE BANK, which will include your billing information. Click on SUBMIT TO SECURE PAYMENT at the bottom.
- Enter credit card information as requested and click on SUBMIT PAYMENT INFORMATION at the bottom of the page.
- To count, all votes must be applied from your Vote Bank by the close of the fundraiser.
- You’re done! The next page will be confirmation that your votes have been placed.
All online payments are made through a secure site—both credit and debit card transactions will be accepted.
CALENDAR PHOTO SELECTIONS:
- The Humane Society of Sarasota County will determine where the winning photos are placed in the calendar. The top 100 eligible photo submissions will be included in the collage pages.
- Winners will be notified by phone and/or e-mail no later than Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
