I was an Office Assistant for 30 years at McCain Correctional Hospital. After retiring, I became an art instructor for Artists League of the Sandhills in Aberdeen, NC. I have been the art instructor for Parks and Recreation Department in Pinehurst, NC for the past five years. I also teach art to private students in my home studio.
The Story Behind Your Painting
A desire to express patriotism as it was set up by our founders and to touch hearts of Veterans who served our country. The founders knew what it meant to be an American and willing to sacrifice their lives for it. They believed in our Creator, God, and written words of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution they signed. The painting is about our First Amendment ("Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance." and (Second Amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.") rights . The Declaration of Independence states: "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness..." Government was created to protect the rights of individual people. Our government was founded on Christian religion and the right to bear arms for protection against possible government tyrants. (Romans 13:1 (KJV) Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
