Your ProfileDeane Carroll Billings grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts near the ocean with beautiful old New England homes and wonderful gardens. She has always had an interest in painting with watercolor after her father started painting in that medium when he was 72 years old. Her art shows her interest and love of animals, gardens and the New England coast from Maine to Nantucket. Her work is on display in her studio at the Artists League of the Sandhills in Aberdeen, NC.

The Story Behind Your PaintingPainting inspired by the photo taken on August 9, 2000. A group of Grateful Dead followers got together at Liberty State Park in NJ at the WWII Memorial to remember Jerry Garcia on the anniversary of his death. Tripp Billings, our son, took this picture that day and came across it a couple of days after 9/11/2001. It won a photo of the week in Nantucket, MA.
