Your ProfileI received a minor in art education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison I have been a long time member of the Artists League in Aberdeen and have been successfully painting and selling oil paintings in the sandhills area for over 25 years. I am a member of the Oil Painters of America. I have taught classes and oil painting, as well as, taking classes from many accomplished artist.

The Story Behind Your PaintingOur family was in France for the 60th anniversary of D-Day. It was one of the most inspirational trips I have taken. Several men in our group had fought in the battle is there and we were present to see them honored and thanked by the local officials of the many towns. While visiting the cemetery,with the rows and rows of white crosses for the men who had lost their lives in battle, I took a photo of a veteran talking to several young soldiers. He was telling them what he had experienced in World War II. That photo was the inspiration for this painting.
